Has anyone had Safelite replace their windshield without telling you when you asked for a repair??

I had a rock hit my windshield and cause a tiny chip. When safelite came out to do a repair (or so I thought) they actually replaced my windshield and never told me. I found out when I received a bill in the mail. Another rock hit my windshield in March and a different glass company came to fix it and actually cracked my windshield. Both companies are trying to tell me that I need to buy my own windshield. Is this correct or has anyone had this experience??Has anyone had Safelite replace their windshield without telling you when you asked for a repair??

Ok, when the rock cracked your window the first time, it might have been to bad to repair so they just put a new windshield in. Still they should have told you before hand but yes, you have to pay for it. When the rock cracked it in March, and you tried to get it fixed by a different company and they cracked it, it should be their responsibility to purchase a new windshield for you. If you can prove that after they were done with it there was more damage thatn when you took it in, they are liable for it. As for the rocks, stop driving right behind people on dirt roads, or semis on the highway, that will solve all your problems. LOL hope I could help
