Depends on why you need to replace your windshield. Some idiot threw a brick thru my windshield and since I had a $500 deductible anyways (and replacing the windshield was under $500) I didn't tell my insurance. I wouldn't think your insurance would go up. Unless it broke because you slammed into someone else's car or house or something. There's windshield replacement companies. They'll even sweep up the broken glass for you. How sweet.
if you have AAA they will cover it and your ins wont go up.
It depends on how your windshield got busted.... it would probably be cheaper in the long run if you just payed for it yourself.
