Can they repair a foot long crack in my windshield without replacing the windshield?

'98 Chevy 1500 pickup? The crack is horizontal, going from the passenger side post out into the windshield. Can they fix this without replacing the windshield, and how much would this cost? Can they repair a foot long crack in my windshield without replacing the windshield?
No. They repair chips in windshields. They do this before they turn in to cracks. So no they have to replace it.Can they repair a foot long crack in my windshield without replacing the windshield?
no it would not be safe

also they amount of resin they would use to even attempt repair a ';footlong crack'; would probably cost you more than a new windshield
Probably not
Just go to the glass shop and ask them. After they stop laughing, they may be able to answer.
NO WAY it needs to be replaced.

Chips can be repaired not long cracks.
chip yes, Crack no. First thing I would do is check if your auto policy will replace your windshield some do, but you need to call to verify. I knew windshield should only be a few hundred, many places will come to you.
HIGHLY UNLIKELY AND IF THEY COULD IT WOULD COST AS MUCH IF NOT MORE THAN A NEW WIND SHEILD. AND PRICE VARIES YOU JUST NEED TO PICK UP THE YELLOW PAGES AND CALL AROUND.
More likely no. In some States depending on what insurance coverage you have, windshield replacement is free and there's no deductible or penalties to worry about. I would check on that.
