How much to replace a cracked windshield?

On my way home today a rock hit the very left side of my windshield and a minute or so later a crack spread about 6 inches across the side. I'm wondering how much, in general, it will cost to replace the windshield, including labor.



Oh %26amp; if the type of car matters - it's a '97 mercury sable.

Indeed do shop around bec the prices can vary so much plus there are companies that will come out to you and fix it for even cheaper then some shops.I'd not expect it to be more then 175.00 or so tops.

Heres a little humour for you , I was driving along on hwy and suddenly a truck went went it put a tiny but noticeable chip in the windshield.I got it fixed a few months later for 50.00 then next day driving along on another hwy truck again shoots a rock and chips the windshield.LolHow much to replace a cracked windshield?

Its always free for me. You need to call around and ask if they will pay your deductible. I had my windshield in a few cars replaced. Your deductible is most likely 100 dollars. Windshield companies will most likely replace it for free and they will come to you within a day to replace it.
Check your auto insurance policy. You might have glass coverage, and if you do, you might only need to pay a deductible.

sorry to hear about your windshield, but in most cases if you are willing to pay cash they are cheaper that if you turn it in on your insurance
if u have insurance ..see what your deductable is....if cash i just got a new one for my s 10 pickup for 135 dollars..installed...but in some city areas they can rip u off for 225/250...shop around in phone book..
Probably around $200.
$100-140 some places are mobile and will come to youre house and do it right there on the spot.......
