How illegal is it to drive with a cracked windshield?

Can I be pulled over for just the windshield cracks? or is it one of those Tack-on charges like driving with a cellphone deal.

I dont have money to replace a windshield.

If the crack is affecting your vision while you drive, then yes, you can get pulled over. So if it's right across the middle or something then you might want to get that fixed. If it's just a small crack in the corner, it should be fine.
dont no bout the laws in WA but in most stated yea u can b pulled just for cracked windshield.

also if u hav inspections in Wa ur gonna hav to get it fixed b4 ur next inspection.......in SC no inspections but tehy change the laws so that any defective equipment is $150 fine per each item.....now u get a warning or 2......but they put it in ther comp and if it isnt fixed in say 10 days or so the hit u with the 150 ticket......but if u hav it fixed b4 u get to court its dropped(unless u a smart *** to the cop)

o i forgot to mention in SC crack has to b over 7 inches to b considered illegal ....might b diff there
let me put it to you this way. if you get stop. you will get a warning. but your information will be in the computer. that you got a waning before. so this time it will be a ticket.
It's another reason for the cops to pull you over. It gives them a legitimate excuse to stop you and then ticket you for something else or search you or whatever. In some states, you can get a fix-it ticket for a small chip. But like I said, usually the cops just use it for an excuse, then if you had like 2 beers, you get a dui, or they'll just say you look like you use drugs and search your car. It's just a reason to screw with you. I'd get it fixed.
In Cal. I was followed by a police car for a long distance before he threw his lights on and pulled me over. I asked what he pulled me over for. He told me my windshield was cracked and wrote me a fix-it ticket for it.
