Car collision into my garage, windshield is broken, should I replace on my own or report to insurance?

I was trying to get my car out of the driveway and ended up crashing into the garage instead. I have a $1,000 deductible for collision and comprehensive coverage with glass. I am afraid if I file a claim, my insurance will go up and it may not cover the windshield as I have that $1,000 deductible. I have Geico insurance and this is my first car. Should I replace the windshield on my own?Car collision into my garage, windshield is broken, should I replace on my own or report to insurance?
Try to deal it out of pocket, otherwise insurance rates will go up much more. You can check how quotes will change here - autoinsurance.noneto.comCar collision into my garage, windshield is broken, should I replace on my own or report to insurance?
it would be better 4 u to replace it. it might cost less
Get an estimate, then decide. If the damage exceeds your deductible, then I would probably get the insurance to cover it. I would be shocked if they increased your rates if the cost is minimal.

If the damage is just your windshield, it will cost much less than $1000. I think a broken windshield, however, is a sign of something much worse.

This is what you have insurance for.
Have you ever replaced a windshield before? If the answer is NO, then this is not the time for you to learn that you can't do it. Besides requiring specialized tools, it requires special knowledge that you don't have unless you've done it before. It's time to just bite the bullet and pay up.
