How do I remove glass shards from broken windshield to replace it with a new one?

USE WELDER'S GLOVES AND SCRAP/ CHISEL THE REST ALONG THE FRAME!How do I remove glass shards from broken windshield to replace it with a new one?
Why aren't you letting the professionals handle this? Don't you have a glass waiver on your insurance? (Deductibles don't apply to glass.)How do I remove glass shards from broken windshield to replace it with a new one?
Use a putty knife, shop vac, and good set of gloves. Piano wire works well to get the windshield seal off.
good strong leather gloves, shop-vac, flat head screw-driver and a pair of needle nose pliers.

Vacuum as much as possible while using screw-driver or pliers to remove the glass shards.
call the auto glass guys - they come out and take care of it in like - 15 minutes!!

It only costs between $150 and $200 I think - for htem to take out the old and repalce it with new. call and get a quote - It will be so much easier than doing it yourself.

If I had to do it myself I would stick duct tape to the window to keep it from falling all in my car. I think the glas guys have a special tool for clearing glass out of the edges like a flat head screwdriver with a kind of scooped head...but I am not sure - seriously they work so fast you can hardly see what they do.
