How do i replace a driver-side windshield wiper on a 1995 Ford Explorer?

i've got a 1995 ford explorer and my driver side windshield wiper doesn't work. I've tried to remove the arm to access the motor to replace it but i can not figure out how to remove the arm.How do i replace a driver-side windshield wiper on a 1995 Ford Explorer?
If the passenger wiper works, your motor is fine.

Ford usually have a cap above the wiper shaft. Remove cap and underneath it is a nut. Remove nut then remove blade. You'll probably find that the shaft is worn smooth. There should be ridges to catch the arm. Use a vise grip to introduce some new 'ridges' to the shaft and hopefully it will hold strong. How do i replace a driver-side windshield wiper on a 1995 Ford Explorer?
Is it for sure the motor, or just the arm stripped, or bolt loose. To remove arm there is probably a bolt under a plastic cap that unsnaps from the bottom of the arm, or is it the type that has a metal tab on the top side that you have to pivot away from the arm to unlock?
Pry up the small cap on the end of the wiper. It either has a small screw holding it down or a clip. The inside of the wiper has splines around it.
