Is it a NY state law to replace a broken windshield for free?

A friend of mine was driving down the highway and the hood of his vehicle came up and smashed through the windshield. If anyone knows anything regarding if this is true or not or partly true that would be great. Thanks! Is it a NY state law to replace a broken windshield for free?
No. It is not a state law to replace a windshield. Some insurance companies offer a coverage under comprehensive called Full Glass coverage. With this coverage you need not pay a deductible to fix your windshield. I suggest you call the insurance company and see it the coverage is there. Is it a NY state law to replace a broken windshield for free?
No. Why would you think people give out free stuff? Talk to your ins. co.

Uh, no. If he has comprehensive with full glass coverage, it will be replaced with no deductible. It all depends on his coverages.
and its free if you buy it for him
LOL, why would the state pay for his windshield???

It's not partly true, not even a single letter of that statement is true...whoever told you that is a complete idiot.

The state isn't responsible for upkeep of a vehicle or someone's dumb negligence.
