How much should it cost to replace the windshield on a 2001 mitsubishi eclipse?

i tapped my girlfriends window yesterday (punched it very lightly, light enough to make someone laugh if you hit them) and the windshield cracked. it was very weak and i feel that god cheated me out of that one but i have to pay for it nevertheless. a nice range of estimates would be nice so that whoever repairs it doesnt try to stiff me. ive heard 325 dollars which is kinda high but i guess it could be worse. How much should it cost to replace the windshield on a 2001 mitsubishi eclipse?
Anywhere from $150 through $500. Call around. If it is being done with insurance then the price will be a lot higher. If your paying for it then be sure to let them know it is not an insurance job. Big price difference. Huge. This is why car insurance is such a rip off. It drives up repair costs and new car costs and most of the time you will never use it and still we all have to pay. Insurance business is a scam but of course they payoff the politicians so now we are all forced to buy the crap or get ticketed even if you have driven for 25, 30, 40 or more years with out a single accident, you are forced to buy insurance. It is crap. How much should it cost to replace the windshield on a 2001 mitsubishi eclipse?
