Do I need to clean my windshield wipers or replace them?

I bought them a year ago. They are Michellin. When I use them now, they leave a streak of water on the windshield and it's really hard to see what's in front of me...Do they need to be cleaned or is it just time to replace them?Do I need to clean my windshield wipers or replace them?

for the price best thing to do is replacement.
you can try cleaning them but if it doesnt work they will need to be replaced. but they usually need to be replaced sooner than a year because the rubber breaks down and gets hard.
Replace. Only cost about, what, $15-$20? Oh, and pick up some Rain-x while you're at it.
You probably need to replace them. But cleaning is free, so why don't you clean them first since that just takes a few minutes and so how they are?
Replacement is the best option for you. The blades harden with use and cleaning or softening does little. They are cheap at an autostore and replacement will improve safety while driving!
Replace them. If the wipers are used only when it rains, they will last longer. However, many including myself use the wipers to clean the windshield which often times is filled with road dust and film. This action reduces the life expectancy of the wiper blades. I live in southern California and what I normally do is during ';Winter'; and likely to rain, I use my good Rain-X or Bosch wipers and during ';Summer'; I use my cheaper set.
try to clean them first with a alcohol pad. they might just be dry and have stuff on them. i take a paper towel and use rubbing alcohol.
