I have a windshield replacement van coming to replace my windshield. Do I tip him?

I have a windshield replacement van coming to replace my windshield. Do I tip him? I have 0 deductible from my insurance but I don't know if I should tip the guy?I have a windshield replacement van coming to replace my windshield. Do I tip him?
I am a firm believer in tipping as a means for thanking someone for good service. I had a side window replaced in my car after a break in and the guy I went to vacuumed the inside of my car after they were done because of all the shards of glass so I gave him an extra 5 dollars. It's their job to put in your new window, but if they go about it in an extra nice way or do something more than what their job requires then that's what deserves a tip.

I hate that our society puts so much pressure on tipping regardless of service. Why is it that a food server gets a tip for doing nothing more than their job but when someone in another industry goes above and beyond they do not get any appreciation.I have a windshield replacement van coming to replace my windshield. Do I tip him?
no thats his job
buy him a coke. or 5 bucks. its not necessary but Its a nice gesture
If you're happy with his manner and service then yes.My sister had one replaced over Christmas and she gave him a tenner because he was really good and tidied up a bit too.

I'd say give him a fiver and tell him to get himself a pint.
I recently had my windshield replaced by a similar service. I don't think they expect a tip. I didn't tip them because when I called they quoted the price for the windshield only even though I asked specifically if that included delivery and installation. When they were done my bill was about a hundred dollars more than I expected. So they definitely did not get a tip.
I do. 5 bucks would be good I think.
How about a cup of tea?

I'd be sure to double check the quote when they get there and I've a buddy that does that on the spot windshield repair stuff.

I highly do suggest you watch them closely bec a recent study showed that many auto glass repair companies are in fact touching the glass where it's to be glued with their hands and the natural oils in our skins contaminate the glue. This ends up that the glue doesn't glue properly or at all in those places and the glue doesn't do it's job bonding fully or last as long as it should.

There's one standard rule of thumb when gluing or bonding any 2 surfaces they must be clean and have open pours so the glue etc can bond and work right.

Hope that helps and best of luck. Yes if you feel the need I agree offer a coffee or tea of pop or even a sandwich or at end a cash tip so they can buy their own snack etc.
