How to get my windshield replaced?

ok i have a growing crack in my windshield and i know that i have a low ball insurance but i know of a lot of people who have had windshields replaced for free. i am a high school student so therefore i highly doubt i could afford to pay for it... how would i go about getting one..?How to get my windshield replaced?
They will pay for replacement only if you have comprehensive coverage, but will count it as a claim on your policy, which could cause your rates to increase. If you just have liability, you are out of luck.

depending on how long the crack is, you might be able to get it repared which is a heck of alot cheaper than replacing the whole windhield. I think if the crack is the same size as a dollar bill, they will repair it, if larger you must replace the whole windsheild.

Safelite replaced mine for under 200 bucks. the cheapest i found anywhere.
