Weather stripping around front windshield popped out of place after windshield replacement?

I had the windshield replaced on my '06 Forester by safe lite about 3 weeks ago. Everything seemed fine until yesterday. The weather stripping on the passenger's side of the car came loose and was flapping in the wind. I was only going 70mph on the highway. I stuck it back in and now it makes a whistling sound. They are coming back tomorrow morning to fix it (it is warrantied by them), but it is going to rain tonight (figures since we've been in this big long drought in NEPA) and I am worried that rain will get into places where it shouldn't. Also, I have a ton of errands to run and I'm afraid that the windshield now has nothing holding it in from the front, so I'm not going to go driving unless it is completely safe. I know the actual windshield itself is sealed against the car, but does the weather stripping play a part too? The guy on the phone said it was just cosmetic, but I want to make sure this won't cause bigger problems...Weather stripping around front windshield popped out of place after windshield replacement?
The guy on the phone is right the moulding is just cosmetic design. The moulding is only there to cover the gap in the A pillar location. Basically you could drive without the top or side moulding and the rain will have no effect on the glass or leakage. The bond is from the glass and the adhesive where it's applied on the pinch weld. Don't worry at all it's going to be all fine, even in the rain.Weather stripping around front windshield popped out of place after windshield replacement?
make them fix it that guy is bs'ing you saying its just cosmetic its their for a reason not to look pretty
If you suffer any damage they are libel. But to be sure put some plastic over it!
this most likely the the out er seal that should not have come out

and if it were to rain would likely leak.you can do you errands because the window is glued in. i would have them replace with new rubber seal and its better to have it done at the shop as they will install it correctly..
don't lose any sleep over it, safelight is a very good company and they will make it right and if your worried about water I would just throw some plastic over the windshield and forget it, a little water won't hurt anything if they are going to fix it tomorrow.
