When you pay someone to have your windshield replaced....?

do they find the windshield and order it, or do they make it themselves? my boyfriend has an old fiat and its super hard to find a new windshield (its cracked at least 10 inches all the way through the glass) and i was wondering...if i pay someone to replace it, will they find one or make it themselves?

They will probably find one. My ex used to work in a warehouse that delivered the windshields to the replacement companies (who actually deliver and install them to you).



They did not make them either, however. They were manufactured somewhere else then delivered to his warehouse.When you pay someone to have your windshield replaced....?
they have dealerships that supplie that company with in this case windsheilds they take your order and see if they have any in stock and if they dony they will get one from a supplier. if u cant find a wind sheild that fits that window u could always try using kijiji or ebay
They will order one for it. It may take a few days to get one, but they cannot make it as windshields must be made to exact specs for the particular car.
the autoglass shops buy them from big suppliers/go to auto glass store and see
they usually find and order the exact windsheild for that car







however im sure if they had to they could use another windshield
They would go and find one. If they can't find one they will say that they can't find one and can't do the job.



There is one place I've ever seen that manufacturer and installs. Most manufacturers just sells and don't deal with the general public.
for a new windshield a good place to find it would be a well known co. that makes them Saf-T-Glass they will find one for you when u order it through them with them doing the job
